Christian Educators’ Conference

Transforming Students Transforming Schools

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye trans-formed by the renewing of your mind,
that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” –
Romans 12:2

October 10-11

The Great Task of Christian Education

One of the greatest teachers of all time said, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.” (3 John 1:4)

I think every Christian teacher would agree. There really is nothing like seeing a child become a man or woman of God.

It really is a miracle — something only God can do!

But He has called us, along with parents, to assist in this miraculous process. Our special part includes:

Evangelism — we have a responsibility to communicate the Gospel to our students. They must come to Christ.

Encouragement — Sometimes we forget that students not only need rebuke for doing wrong, but also praise for doing right. And don’t forget to note their progress.

Example — Students not only learn by what a teacher says, they learn by observing how a teacher lives. Don’t be a phony, saying one thing and living another. Be sure to spend time daily in God’s Word, pray, be regular in church attendance, live the life of a believer! Oh and admit when you make a mistake, and ask for forgiveness when it is needed.

Listen to how Jesus summed this up:

Luke 6:40 “The disciple [student] is not above his master [teacher]: but every one that is perfect [mature] shall be as his master [teacher].
